WAYS TO HELP
There are several ways you can support the Boone Area Humane Society’s (BAHS) life-saving work.
WAYS TO HELP
Whether you donate $1, $5, $20 or $100, the BAHS appreciates your generosity. Donations are tax-deductible and you may select which program you would like your money to support.
The BAHS accepts new or gently used towels, blankets, food and toys for our shelter animals. We are also in need of office supplies, printing services and items for our special events, such as gift cards and gift baskets. A full wish list is available under ITEMS NEEDED.
Do you want to help shelter animals in a personal way? Become a volunteer. Volunteers assist staff with a variety of tasks including socializing adoptable animals and cleaning, foster care, and helping with special events and fundraising. Please call 515-432-6112 for more information.
The Boone Area Humane Society is home to several progressive programs. These programs are funded by donations and would not be possible without your help.
Animals awaiting their forever home for more than 7 days are part of the Boone Area Humane Society’s Extended Care Program. As with all adoptable animals, they will remain at the BAHS until they find a home.
The BAHS occasionally receives animals that have been injured, neglected or need additional treatment. The Enhanced Care program funds the treatment these animals need to become healthy and adoptable. Enhanced Care donations also help with enrichment items during their stay with us.
Seniors Helping Seniors
If you are 60 or older, you may be eligible to adopt a senior animal for free. Since these animals are often already housebroken and way beyond the puppy and kitten years of chewing, jumping the fence and climbing curtains, they make great companions for senior citizens. Look for a special “Senior” stamp on our kennel card to help you quickly identify our senior animals.
