We want to thank the community for their support and understanding as we maneuver through this new reality. We are very grateful for the donations of pet food and supplies that have been given to us!
Our adoption floor is now open for adoption by appointment only. Please follow the guidelines below to schedule an appointment:
Look through our available pets at https://bahs.us/adoptables/ and select an animal you would like to meet. Fill out the application for the animal by clicking on its picture and use the Apply to Adopt button. We will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.
We ask that the appointment be limited to two members of the household if possible, preferably no children.
For the safety of our staff and guests we ask that everyone please wear a mask if possible.
We continue to be reliant on the community for support. Your donations mean more to us now than ever before. If you are able to help, here are some options:
Monetary donations are the most helpful and can be made online at https://bahs.us/donate/ or you can mail them to use at 228 W 16th St, Boone, IA 50036.
Donations of pet food and supplies are also very helpful. During the summer our greatest needs are kitten food and kitty litter. You can buy locally and leave donations in our front lobby between noon- 4:00 pm weekdays or you can order from our Amazon wishlist at http://bit.ly/BAHS_Amazon and have it sent directly to us.
